About Dawnie

My wisdom and compassion are born of my own transformation and return to love over the last 36 years. Key to this is understanding the importance of self-forgiveness in living with unconditional love and developing inner peace, stability and understanding, with which to meet life’s challenges and our changing world.

By relying on the true nature of your heart and mind, this practical approach is for anyone who wants to grow beyond our social conditioning to the truth of love, unity and infinite possibility that lie within the divine essence we all share that is the heart’s intelligence. So instead of living through the illusion that we are separate from our innate innocence, perfection and unlimited potential, we can connect to our shared humanity, forgive ourselves, express our unique gifts and co-create a more loving world.

This is my vision and I am honoured to share this path with you.

I have shared my journey below, so you can get to know me and understand how working together will transform your life.

Early Life

My early life was defined by an affinity for ponies and the natural world. This taught me about stillness, resonance and being connected to who we really are, our Souls.

At age 12, I faced my mortality and was told I’d one day be in a wheelchair. This changed the whole trajectory of my life. I knew the importance of self-healing and that our shared purpose is to love - ourselves, one another and our world. I was no longer able to do weight bearing exercise so I became a swimmer and began researching breathing and how to manage pain naturally and preserve my health. This began my research into the Neuroscience of healing and transformation.

In the decade that followed I underwent several operations that restored my mobility and had a number of transformative experiences that showed me a reality beyond what my eye can see and a love that unites us all.

During this period I became I also a student of yoga and meditation and had my experience of conscious, deep relaxation.

Education

For my undergraduate degree I studied Human Communication and specialised in supporting autistic children and mentoring young people. I wrote my thesis on 'The Social Experience of Living with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder’ and developed insights that are now part of our collective consciousness. This marked the beginning of my career as a mentor and coach, alongside which I trained as a teacher.

Studying in Thailand

At age 27, my un-processed trauma began to surface and my eardrums burst multiple times with anxiety. I didn’t know who could help me so I travelled to Thailand to learn how to help myself. I dedicated the next 2+ years to studying yoga, massage and meditation-mindfulness practices recognised by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (N.I.C.E) in the treatment of difficulties associated with stress and anxiety.

During this period my intuition told me to develop a methodology for assisting recovery and optimising wellbeing and quality of life, using the breath. I wanted to use my insight to give people the tools and understanding that would have helped me when I was growing up. The seed of inspiration for Breath Perception was sown and I returned to the UK to train as a therapist and continue my research.

The Creation of Breath Perception

I undertook a year of training in Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology and recognised the importance of the autonomic nervous system in cultivating presence and regulating breathing and every aspect of our wellbeing. Alongside this, I worked in a college as a Wellbeing Coach, where I shared practical tools so the teachers and young people could look after their minds.

During my Masters Degree Therapy training I re-visited my under graduate passion for Infant Attachment Theory and discovered new passions in Neurobiology and Trauma Theory. For my thesis I researched ‘Breath Perception as a Self-Care Tool for Trainee Counsellors’. The results revealed an unequivocal need to establish Breath Perception as an official method.

In 2011, I founded Breath Perception® and my wellbeing Consultancy, Breathe 4 Wellbeing.

Breath Perception® had a huge impactenabling young athletes facing potential disqualification to go to number 1 in Great Britain and helping young people facing end of life experience peace of mind.

The ripple effect was phenomenal.

Finding Freedom

In 2020, in response to Covid-19 lockdown and my daily application of the Lessons in A Course In Miracles, I was released from my past and saw the true nature of the mind. Without connecting to our shared divine essence that is the love that exists within all of our hearts and knowing this is our collective true Self, we will stay in separation and never know who we really are.

I realised that self-forgiveness is the key to inner freedom. If we can’t recognise our shared innate innocence and release the past, we’ll never forgive each other, connect to our potential or co-create a more harmonious world.

Since that moment, I’ve been called to share the wisdom and scientific insight that helped me find freedom. So instead of living through the illusion that we are separate from our innate innocence and perfection, we can experience the shared heart-mind of humanity, practice self-forgiveness and co-create a more loving world. This is my vision and I am honoured to walk this path with you.

With Gratitude

I owe my quality of life today, to my inner teacher who showed me that Love-Self is always the answer, the unconditional Love of my family and friends, and the kindness and skill of professionals who have helped me find freedom. I am passionate about helping you find yours!
