‘Love is the most powerful force in the universe, and the consciousness through which everything is possible. Without a science-backed roadmap and practical tools with which to bring the mind into alignment with the heart, we automatically stay in separation and never know who we truly are.’

About Dawnie

My compassion and insight are born of my transformation and return to love over the last 36 years. Central to this journey is understanding the power of Self-forgiveness in cultivating unconditional love and the inner peace, stability and courage needed to meet life’s challenges and our changing world.

By relying on the true nature of the heart and mind, this practical approach is unrelated to and yet inclusive of all religions, and a pathway to inner peace and self-actualisation for anyone who wants to walk this path.

I have shared my journey below, so you can get to know me and understand how working together will help you transform your life.

Early Life

My early life was defined by an affinity for ponies and the natural world. This taught me about stillness, resonance, unconditional love and being connected to who we really are, our Souls.

At age 12, I faced my mortality and was told I’d one day be in a wheelchair. This showed me the importance of understanding the body, self-healing and living with love. I was no longer able to do weight bearing exercise, so I became a swimmer and began researching breathing and how to manage pain naturally and preserve my health. This marked the beginning of my research into the Neuroscience of self-healing and transformation.

In the decade that followed I underwent several operations that restored my mobility and had a number of transformative experiences that showed me a reality beyond what my eye can see, and a love that unites us all. I experienced Oneness.

During this period, I became a student of yoga and meditation, and experienced conscious relaxation for the first time.

Education

For my undergraduate degree, I studied Human Communication and developed a passion for Infant Attachment Theory (the way our earliest relationships with our primary caregivers inform our approach to relationships throughout our lives). I found an affinity for supporting autistic and neurodivergent children and mentoring young people.

I wrote my thesis on 'The Social Experience of Living with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder’and developed insights that are now part of our collective consciousness. This laid the foundation for the hundreds of neurodivergent adults and young people I have supported since, and marked the beginning of my journey as a mentor and coach, alongside which I trained as a teacher.

Studying in Thailand

At age 27, my un-processed trauma began to surface and my eardrums burst multiple times with anxiety. Unaware of who could help me, I travelled to Thailand to learn how to help myself. I dedicated the next 2+ years to studying yoga, massage and meditation-mindfulness practices recognised by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (N.I.C.E) in the treatment of difficulties associated with stress and anxiety.

During this period my intuition guided me to develop a methodology for assisting recovery and optimising wellbeing and quality of life, using the breath. I was guided to alleviate suffering by giving people the tools and mind-body awareness that would have helped me when I was growing up. The seed of inspiration for Breath Perception was sown and I returned to the UK to train as a therapist, and continue my research.

The Creation of Breath Perception

I undertook a year of training in Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology and recognised the importance of the autonomic nervous system in cultivating presence, regulating breathing and every aspect of our wellbeing. Alongside this, I worked in a college as a Wellbeing Coach, where I shared practical tools so the teachers and young people could reduce stress and look after their minds.

During my Masters Degree Therapy training I re-visited my under graduate passion for Infant Attachment Theory and recognised the link between Neurobiology and Trauma Theory. For my thesis I researched ‘Breath Perception as a Self-Care Tool for Trainee Counsellors’. The results revealed an unequivocal need to establish Breath Perception as an official method.

In 2011, I founded Breath Perception and my wellbeing Consultancy, Breathe 4 Wellbeing.

Breath Perception had a huge impactenabling young athletes facing potential disqualification to go to number 1 in Great Britain, and helping young people facing end of life connect to their spirit and experience peace of mind.

The ripple effect was phenomenal.. Then Covid-19 lockdown came.

Finding Freedom

In 2020, in response to Covid-19 lockdown and my daily application of the Lessons in A Course In Miracles, I was released from my past and finally saw the true nature of the mind.

I realised that self-forgiveness is the key freedom. If we can’t recognise our innate innocence, shared humanity and release the past, we will never realise our potential or transform our world.

This was one of the most profound and transformative experiences of my life.

Ever since that moment, I’ve been called to share the wisdom and scientific insight that helped me find freedom. So instead of living through the illusion that we are separate from our innate innocence and perfection, we can experience the shared heart-mind of humanity, practice self-forgiveness and co-create a more loving world.

This is my vision and I am honoured to walk this path with you.
